Bountiful Appreciation for 2022 Branch Leaders

Posted on November 30, 2022 at 2:47 PM by Camila Matamala-Ost

A branch leader stands midway up a ladder harvesting fruit from a tree.Branch Leaders work closely with the Harvest Pierce County team to assess fruit trees in Pierce County for pest and disease issues. When they find fruit that is ripe for picking, they step up to lead urban fruit harvests that are donated to local food banks. All in all, our Branch Leaders play an integral role in helping feed our community. Despite a low production year for fruit trees (due to the uncommonly wet spring) our Branch Leaders, some new and some seasoned veterans, collectively harvested over 25,000 lbs of fresh produce. That is several thousand pounds redirected from the waste stream and shared with our neighbors in need.

We full heartedly thank our 2022 Branch Leaders for taking on this awesome task! Hope to see you all again next year.
