The 2020 Ernie Bay Lifetime Achievement Award goes to Paul Chromey! 

Paul spent countless hours volunteering with many programs at Pierce Conservation District. Sadly, we lost Paul in 2020 but his legacy of dedication to improving our community lives on with his two children, Alisha and Darren.

Paul’s journey with us began with assisting at streamside plantings. It grew into Stream Team monitoring and mentoring both Alisha and Darren, and continued with our Native Plant Sale. Paul was committed to his volunteer work and quickly became friends with PCD staff, sharing photos and stories from his latest backpacking trips, advice for the best fishing spots each season, and bragging about his two children.

Paul will forever be part of the PCD family.
