Water FestivalNow in its 16th year, the Children’s Water Festival is scheduled for March 19, 2019 at the University of Puget Sound. PCD coordinates this annual event for local 5th graders, bringing together 700 students and 120 volunteers for this day of learning. NAAEE Conference
This October, environmental educators from around the globe converged upon Spokane for theannual conference for the North American Association for Environmental Education. The conference featured success stories, innovative
Orca Day EE ideas, and opportunities for connecting with other environmental educators. Joining a strong contingent from the Pierce County area, Pierce Conservation District’s environmental education program was among those in attendance. Altogether, more than 1,300 educators participated in the conference and shared their visions for the role environmental education can play in the 21st century.

Becky Doyle-Reynolds and her children were some of
the 95 volunteers that helped out on Orca Recovery Day
and made a pledge for continuing action.
