The 2025 Regional Envirothon competition has concluded, and we are happy to announce the winning student team.
What is Envirothon?
Envirothon is an annual environmental science competition for high school-aged students. They are tested on the subject areas of aquatic ecology, soils, forestry, and wildlife, as well as a "current issue" topic, which for 2025 was Forest Stewardship. This winter and spring, students from throughout Pierce, Thurston, Mason, and Clark counties have been studying their local ecosystems and attending workshops at local universities. Last week, they gathered together at Squaxin Park in Olympia to compete in the regional event for the South Sound area. Students ventured through the park to complete a five-part test and showed off their understanding of environmental science concepts.
The highest-scoring teams for each county move on to the Washington State competition in about a month. Congratulations to the winning high school for Pierce County- Stadium High School from Tacoma, as well as the overall highest-scoring team in the regional competition, Timberline High School from Olympia!
