Puget Sound waterfront homeowners are invited to join in a study on residential owners’ management of their shoreline.
This study, coordinated by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and Washington State University’s, on behalf of Shore Friendly, will help inform engagement of waterfront residents in shoreline stewardship.
Pierce Conservation District hosts a local Shore Friendly program that provides assistance to waterfront residents to help them protect their properties, while also protecting the health of Puget Sound.
Puget Sound waterfront homeowners face decisions about how to manage issues like erosion, vegetation, and drainage on their shorelines. The goal of this focus group is to learn about those tough decisions directly from homeowners so Shore Friendly can offer better assistance.
The focus group will meet for online Zoom discussions in early July, with shoreline property owners across the Puget Sound region participating.
If you are a Puget Sound waterfront property owner, we encourage you to participate! Your insights will be invaluable, and no prior knowledge of shoreline management practices is necessary. Each session will last about an hour, and participants will receive a $20 e-gift card.
