The Green Partnership Fund is paused for the 2023 round. |
City of DuPont - Center Drive Median Native Planting Project ($5,000): This funding will support removal and replacement of existing plant material in medians which has exorbitant irrigation requirements with more native plant species that are drought tolerant when established.
City of Puyallup - Puyallup’s NeighborWoods ($5,500): This funding will support implementation of a pilot program to plant at least 50 trees at Puyallup homes to support water quality improvements, increase urban tree canopy and educate the public on GSI.
City of Sumner - Sumner Knotweed Control Program ($10,000): This funding will support the City of Sumner’s objective to protect local habitat and develop a successful Knotweed Control Program.
EarthCorps - East Hylebos Creek Restoration – Part 3 ($6,900): This funding will support expanding forest restoration and neighborhood outreach in an important segment of East Fork Hylebos Creek Forest near Milton, WA.
Forterra - Buckley Forest Preserve ($10,000): Funding from GPF will provide matching funds for the stewardship and restoration of the Buckley Forest Preserve, a 206-acre forest owned by Pierce Co jointly stewarded via a public-private partnership with Forterra.
Harbor WildWatch - Donkey Creek Outreach & Education Project ($10,000): This funding will support outreach, education, and action projects that cause citizens to take direct action to protect habitat, water quality, salmon and shellfish in the newly restored Donkey Creek and Austin Estuary.
Karshner Elementary School - Karshner Elementary School Rain Gardens ($10,000): This funding will support the design and construction of two 150-200 SF rain gardens. One rain garden will be designed with edibles to compliment the recently established school gardening program.
Nisqually River Foundation - Nisqually Nutrient Enhancement Program ($5,000): This funding will support all salmon species within the Nisqually watershed, with a special consideration and focus on threatened Chinook and steelhead, while educating and inspiring the next generation of salmon stewards in Pierce County.
Pacific Lutheran University Sustainability Department - reDesign Site, Permaculture Design Course ($5,000): This funding will support a sustainable site design and installation for the reDesign House at PLU, a community focused Permaculture Cert. Course, two community guest lectures, and no less than three local site designs.
PCC Farmland Trust - Reise Farm Creek & Restoration Phase II ($8,000): This funding will support Phase II of a multi-year restoration project aimed at improving habitat near the headwaters of Ball Creek, including the adjacent agricultural fields on Reise Farm in the Puyallup Watershed.
Sustainable Roots of the Northwest Leadership Foundation - Eastside Green Thumbs ($10,000): This funding will support… youth and school gardening on Tacoma’s East Side and a seven week Summer gardening program for 20 -25 students ( 4th to 8th grade).
Town of Steilacoom - Sequalish Street LID ($10,000): This funding will support the installation of 1,900 lf of pervious concrete sidewalks in the Sequalish Street area of Steilacoom.
