Farm Foundations Training runs from late February through October 2020. In the spring the format is a two hour evening class once a week on Wednesdays plus a three hour field day. The days for field work will be determined after the first application review date based on the availability of applicants. Evening classes end in May and our field days will increase in length to five hours. In October we will revert back to the original schedule of two hour evening classes and three hour field days.
The first round of applications will be reviewed on November 18th. Applications received after this time will be reviewed and accepted based on space available in program. Applicants will receive offers of acceptance into the program beginning after November 18th. Please be aware that space is limited in the cohort and not all applicants will be accepted.
With that in mind, please answer each question as thoroughly as possible! If we have any questions staff might reach out about your application to better help us make decisions. This will only be done based on staff capacity, so please give us as much information about yourself as you can to help us choose the best cohort possible.
Those who come from communities historically underrepresented in or marginalized by agriculture will be given preference for acceptance. Those able to commit for the full season will also be given priority placement. Applicants will be required to confirm their spot in their program within two weeks of acceptance. Staff will reach out via email and phone call if we do not hear back from you.
Participants are asked to do their best to keep absences to five throughout the season.
