Just next to the Port of Tacoma is an extremely special place for the Puyallup Tribe of Indians: the Canoe Landing. Most of the land around the Port was taken from the Tribe and developed for heavy industry, but this site has been one of the few coastal areas the Tribe has continuously maintained ownership of since colonization. With the support of one of our Green Stormwater Mini-Grants, the Tribe's Sustainability Committee will be planting the site with trees and other native plants, and we need your help!
