Blueberries & Blues: A Sweet Summer Celebration

Sunday, July 14, 2019

Harvest Pierce County and Metro Parks Tacoma, and Charlotte's Blueberry Park Action Group are hosting our fourth Annual Blueberries & Blues celebration! There will be games and a lawn concert with live music - as well as ice cream provided by Bliss Ice Cream and Fat Zach's Pizza making an appearance. We are super excited to have an amazing lineup of local musical talent. Returning for another year Kim Archer and Jordani! Come tour the brand new Charlotte's Blueberry Park Community Garden, and find out how you can start getting fresh garden produce right away. There is also a playground that is being built with The Trust for Public Land, who will be at the event with a booth to answer questions, tour the playground, and maybe even host a ribbon cutting if the playground is finished in time. We will also be celebrating the Pierce Conservation District's 70th birthday -we hope to see you there!

Join us in celebrating the Pierce Conservation District’s 70th birthday!
It's been 70 years of on-the-ground conservation work with local Pierce County volunteers and homeowners to ensure a sustainable and healthy community and environment for all. We can’t think of a better place to celebrate than Blueberries & Blues at Charlotte’s Blueberry Park.

To celebrate our 70 years of conservation, PCD is sponsoring FREE blueberry ice cream, made by Bliss Small Batch Creamery (while supplies last). There will also be other fun celebratory surprises for the whole family!

Be sure and bring your water bottle to fill up at Metro Parks Tacoma’s watering station, as well as lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and umbrellas for the live concert’s lawn seating. Want to be even more green? Take the Number 1 Bus Route to 72nd street - the park is just a quick walk from there!
