Veggie Co-op to Benefit from Healthy Kids-Healthy Schools Grant

Arlene picking peasIn mid-April, Franklin Pierce School District’s Natural Science Resource Center (The Farm) was awarded a $200,000 grant to support efforts to deliver high quality produce from the farm to school cafeterias year round. Our Veggie Co-op program, a community food project driven by volunteers, is hosted at The Farm and will likewise benefit from these grant dollars.

Over 150 Pierce Conservation District supporters showed up for our 2016 Annual Meeting, another great turnout for another great night of celebrating conservation! Arista did a great job of cooking up some delicious food to keep everyone happy as we celebrated our wonderful volunteers and partners.
