Micaela Cooley, HPC Program Coordinator, Ryan Mello, Executive Director, and Jeanette Dorner, District Board Chairwoman, happily present Maralise Hood Quan, Executive Director
of the Center of Dialog & Resolution with our Partner of the Year award for their great work in
supporting Community Gardens as spaces for conflict resolution within communities.
Over 150 Pierce Conservation District
supporters showed up for our 2016
Annual Meeting, another great turnout
for another great night of celebrating
conservation! Arista did a great job of
cooking up some delicious food to keep
everyone happy as we celebrated our
wonderful volunteers and partners.

With everyone’s bellies full, our Executive
Director, Ryan Mello, provided a
rundown of our Top 10 accomplishments
of the year. Lara Whitely Binder,
from the Climate Impacts Group gave
a presentation on the local impacts
we can expect from climate change.
2015 was a fantastic year and so far in
2016 we’re keeping the ball rolling!
The most important part of the night,
however was in acknowledging our
fantastic volunteers and supporting
partners. We got to hear from each of
them as we presented them with awards
that were handcrafted by local artists.
